Introducing Director Simone Coxall
Rehearsals for our show #OrlandoTheQueerElement open at Fourth Monkey today, Monday 15th May, and we have some big news to share with y'all...
This upcoming show is the first by Clay & Diamonds that is to be delivered by a new performance director. Up until now, Artistic Director Andy Dawson has carried out this role but we wanted to take this opportunity to explore the muddy line between arts and sciences with a new creative mind. This a show that explores the essential nature of the body and its relation to environment and culture through history and as such a director with an expertise in movement was exactly the right choice.
Introducing Simone Coxall.
Simone has worked in the UK, Australia and USA, directing numerous site-specific productions that make her a perfect fit for this piece that is touring to two National Trust properties: Hanbury Hall and Knole Park. As the former Head of Movement on the Ba Acting course at Italia Conti, Simone will be bringing this expertise in exploring the body to the show as she helps to break open this sense of male/femaleness for actors and audiences in June. We all agree that Simone is exactly the right creative to take this production to the next level.
In addition to her own directing work, Simone teaches at Drama Centre and The Globe and is a regular director with Fourth Monkey Training Company.
